Man jumped on West 17th

A 49-year-old man reported that he was assaulted in front of 434 West 17th Street on Sunday, February 25 at 3 a.m. The victim told police that three men, one whom he thinks is known to him, jumped him while he was nearby his apartment walking his dog. He told police that he lost consciousness either because he was punched or by hitting his head on a wall. Police said that the victim was not very cooperative and would not tell police the name of the person in the group that he thought he knew.

threat leads to arrest

Police arrested a 46-year-old man for menacing inside Adam’s Marketplace at 197 Eighth Avenue on Saturday, February 24. An employee at the store reported that the man came in about 8 p.m. and started arguing and behaving in a disorderly manner. The victim told police that the suspect then put his hand inside his jacket, simulating a firearm, and told the victim, “I’ll blow your head off.” Police said no weapon was found

Assault arrest

Police arrested a 40-year-old man for assault in front of 335 Eighth Avenue near West 26th Street on Friday, February 23 at 12:30 a.m. The 26-year-old victim told police that while he was walking down Eighth Avenue, the suspect punched him in the face. Police said that the suspect and victim did not know each other.

Man harassed with umbrella

A 34-year-old man reported that he was harassed while riding the M23 bus on Thursday, February 22 at 11:10 p.m. when the bus was at the northwest corner of 12th Avenue and West 24th Street. He told police that while he was riding the bus, an unknown person hit him in the arm with an umbrella.

Pregnant woman threatened

A resident of the Chelsea Houses at 420 West 26th Street told police that she was threatened by another resident in her building on Wednesday, February 21 at 4:15 p.m. She told police that she and her neighbor got into an argument when the male suspect said, “You’re lucky you’re pregnant or I would beat you up.”

Man busted for shoplifting shrimp

Police arrested a 51-year-old man for petit larceny inside the Whole Foods at 250 Seventh Avenue on Saturday, February 24 at 6 p.m. Police said that the man took four bags of shrimp, as well as liquid soap, off the shelf and put it in a tote bag before attempting to leave without paying.
