Multiple assaults at pizzeria

Police arrested a 46-year-old man for assault inside Stella Pizza at 110 Ninth Ave. on Friday, April 27 at 3:15 a.m. Police said that the suspect and the 41-year-old victim got into an argument that the suspect escalated by punching the victim in the face. Police said that the suspect and the victim didn’t know each other. No further information was available regarding what the dispute was about.

Police said that a 28-year-old woman was also assaulted at Stella about five minutes after the first incident, but according to the physical description of the suspect in that case, a different person was responsible and no one was arrested. The victim told police that the suspect punched her in the face before fleeing.

A 22-year-old woman also reported being assaulted at the pizzeria between 3 and 3:15 a.m. the same morning. The victim told police that she got into an argument with a woman she didn’t know and pulled the woman’s hair, prompting her boyfriend to jump in between them and pulled the victim’s hair, dragging her to the floor. The victim said that the woman’s boyfriend also kicked her in the face. She reported the incident while at New York Presbyterian Hospital around 7 p.m. that evening. It was unclear if any of the other victims or suspects were involved in this incident as well.

Man arrested for assaulting woman

Police arrested a 27-year-old man for assaulting a woman in front of Electric Room at 355 West 16th St. on Sunday, April 29 at 4:20 a.m. The 28-year-old victim told police that she was hanging out at the club for her brother’s birthday when the suspect punched her in the face, knocking out several of her teeth and causing other injuries. The suspect fled south on Eighth Avenue. Police searched the area and were unable to find him but he reportedly returned to the scene later and was identified by a witness.

Woman injured in hit-and-run

A 58-year-old woman reported that she was hit by a driver who didn’t stop while crossing the street at the northwest corner of Ninth Avenue and West 40th Street on Saturday, April 28 at 7 a.m. She told police that she was crossing Ninth Avenue and was in the crosswalk when the driver struck her while making a right hand turn. Police said that the driver never exited the vehicle and fled the scene. The victim was removed to Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries.

Man arrested for West 40th Street assault

A 24-year-old man was arrested on assault charges in front of 460 West 40th St. on Friday, April 27 at 8:30 p.m. The 24-year-old victim told police that he and a friend were walking home when the suspect approached them and they got into an argument. The victim said the suspect then punched him in the face and fled but police searched the area shortly after and the man was arrested.
